Design

At Berrys we understand the language of design.

Whether you already have a vision of what you want to create or need our guidance to help you reach this, our in-house Garden Designer Zea Katzeff will work closely with you to create a garden design tailored for you.

The collaboration between Zea, a garden designer, and husband Brian, a horticulturist and landscaper, resulted in the creation of Berrys. Zea trained with award-winning garden designer Robin Williams and now trains others in garden design.

Zea places communication and client satisfaction as her highest priorities. She brings her artistic talent, knowledge of building materials and keen technical understanding to projects of all sizes. Her proposals consist of scaled coloured conceptual plans and working CAD drawings with design details as required. Her goal is always to enhance the site and to create usable, memorable spaces that reflect each client’s needs.

Zea is able to take on a range of projects: large and small, classic or modern and will look at all specifications to make sure that your newly designed space meets your needs – be it a luxury roof terrace, a large back garden filled with fun for a growing family or a quiet haven away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city.

Some Design Examples

Before and after photos showing one of Zea’s many front garden and driveway design projects. Tired planting beds and a lawn were replaced with new planting beds, adding year-round interest to the front garden. Beautiful paving takes you on a journey to the front door, passing shrubs with interesting foliage and colourful perennials.

Before and after photos of a rear garden designed by Zea. The garden has two beautiful old trees which Zea wanted to showcase. She did this by designing a tree seat and planting beds which complimented the tree and made a once unused corner of the garden into a relaxing place to escape to. Zea’s design also incorporates a natural stone garden path which invites the curious down to the second lawn, passing beautiful perennials and shrubs which are alive with precious pollinators. The patio combines classic natural stone paving with modern glass balustrades which provide a stunning view of the whole garden.

To the left shows how this rear garden looked before Zea designed it. To the right are the after photos. Overgrown and worn out planting beds were replaced by wooden decking which is beautifully complemented by the wooden fencing. An outdoor kitchen was fitted with a cosy seating area and raised planting beds outline the garden. A ‘rainbow sandstone’ water feature is the finishing touch to this stylish garden.
